Recognising the potential career development for students in this field of study, INTI is confident of producing competent graduates for the ICT industries, to support research and development activities, and to develop excellent, professional and dedicated faculty members in the areas of teaching, research and development.
As part of the efforts to strengthen the curriculum with industry specific skills, INTI has formed partnerships with several leading IT providers. These collaborations provide leading edge technology skills and incorporate professional certification contents into the INTI programme curriculum, ensuring that INTI graduates are fully equipped with highly employable skills and are highly sought-after by the industry upon completion of their studies.
IBM
INTI International University and IBM Malaysia have forged a synergistic alliance, leveraging IBM’s Software Career Training (SCT) Programme. This alliance makes INTI the first private university in Malaysia to become an IBM Education Partner. With this collaboration, students enrolled in Masters and Degree programmes at INTI will be able to gain access to a wealth of resources, leading edge technologies, industry best practices and business solutions.
Cisco Networking Academy
INTI International University and Cisco Networking Academy, one of the Local Cisco Networking Academies in Malaysia, have been in a strategic collaboration since 2006. The incorporation of CCNA and CCNA wireless syllabus into the degree programme has enhanced the standard of students in designing and managing medium-sized networks. It paves the path for their advancement in professional certification such as CCNP and CCIE. Graduates equipped with these professional certifications are highly sought- after by employers.
Oracle JavaTM
Java technology, being the best known computer industry brand, is an object-oriented, cross-platform, multi threaded programming language which is widely deployed. INTI has incorporated Java in the syllabus of its IT programmes. This provides students with a solid foundation for building Web-related services, network applications, engineering applications, and embedded systems.
Teaching and Learning
INTI is committed to high quality student-centred experiences. The curriculum has been designed to nurture students who are innovative in their thinking and global in their mindset. Many programmes at INTI are taught using the “Problem-based Learning” and “Project-based Learning” approach.
Project-based learning provides ample opportunities for students to acquire problem-solving skills, data analysis, critical analysis, and analytical skills. Students are put into teams to solve highly complex problems which provides them with opportunities to design solutions, enhance collaboration, manage project and improve communication skills. These activities will also prepare students for employment and to embark on lifelong learning.
Exposure in ICT Events and Competitions
INTI Computing students are consistently exposed to various ICT events and IT-related competitions organised or endorsed by the Malaysia Multimedia Development Corporation (MDEC).
These events and competitions aim to challenge the students’ creativity in ICT and to nurture the innovative minds of Malaysia’s new E-Generation. This is in line with our Government’s vision to transform Malaysia into a Knowledge Economy with the mission of building an ecosystem for the growth of a sustainable critical mass of K-based talented workers.
INTI Internship Programme
The INTI Internship programme allows students to gain their very first experience at the workplace. The experience gained from internship placements is invaluable and helps to prepare graduates for employment. INTI students have been accepted as interns into multinational companies such as SONY, Ricoh, Advanced Micro Devices Global Services, Western Digital, Unisem, Samsung, ON Semiconductor, Profitera, PricewaterhouseCoopers and many more.
